Description

These delicious no-bake Dark Chocolate Date Truffles are the best combination of a healthy and tasty dessert. They’re ready in 30 minutes and perfect as a versatile and nutritious addition to a plant-based diet!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the truffles

  • 200 g dates (pitted)
  • 70 g almonds (unsalted)
  • 1 tbsp warm water
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • vanilla extract

For the chocolate dip

  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • 2 tbsp hazelnuts (ground-roasted)
  • 1 tsp canola oil
  • vanilla extract

For coating

  • ground-roasted hazelnuts (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Add the dates, almonds, vanilla extract, warm water, and salt to a food processor. Pulse until you reach a sticky dough. When pressing it with your fingers, the dough should be sticky enough to stick together.
  2. Take a teaspoon of your dough and roll it into even balls with your hands. Place the date truffles in the fridge for 15 Minutes to set.

  3. Start preparing your chocolate dip. Fill a small saucepan with water and place a heatproof bowl on top of it.
Cut or break the dark chocolate into small pieces, then add the pieces to the bowl. Let them melt and stir regularly.
  4. Add the ground-roasted hazelnuts, canola oil, and vanilla extract to the melted chocolate and gently fold.

  5. Take the truffles from the fridge and dip them into your melted chocolate.
Then, sprinkle the top with the ground-roasted hazelnuts and set aside.
  6. Place the dark chocolate date truffles in the fridge for 15 minutes to set, and then serve!

Notes

Use pitted dates to make this recipe. You will save yourself a lot of time!

Do not add too much water before pulsing. Adding it will make your dough too runny, affecting its texture and taste.

Use high-quality dark chocolate to make it tastier.

If you do not have ground hazelnuts, make them by adding whole ones to a food processor and blending them until you reach the perfect texture.

Let your dates set in the fridge for 30-40 minutes before dipping them in the dark chocolate dip. This way, they will be hard enough to avoid making the dipping process difficult.
